EDI Developer, Rockville, MD

Our client is seeking an EDI Developer for a contract opportunity in Rockville, MD.

Note:  Any non-US citizen to work on the contract must be able to prove US residency for a period of three (3) years prior to the commencement of work on this contract.


  • Work under direction from the manager or lead.
  • Responsible for creating validation rules utilizing Specbuilder.
  • Responsible for creating translation rules and ensure that they maintained across the Health Insurance Exchange or Medicaid projects by communicating with other Project team members.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure the code written complies with the company standards and policies.
  • Ensure the release process and review the environment after the code is deployed.
  • Configure and manage EDI EDIFECS V7.X product.
  • Analyze and resolve any XEServer/XEngine related configuration server issues and ensuring that these issues are documented thoroughly.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with Functional/Team Leads to understand the requirements and work out a design.
  • Write Java/JavaScript/XML code to meet the requirements and maintain coding standards.
  • Develop XEServer Configuration profiles and maintain them.
  • Keep up to date with EDI industry standards and technology.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.


  • BS in Computer Science or related discipline OR experience in lieu of.
  • Must have 4-6 plus years of EDI development experience and minimum 3 plus years of working experience in XEServer/XEngine.
  • Must have 3-5 years of working experience in X12/HIPAA (Preferably 834 /820/270-271).
  • Must have Java and web service knowledge.
  • Knowledge of different protocol like SFTP, SOAP.
  • Knowledge of XEserver , trading partner and Map Builder.
  • Must have knowledge of transformation tool.
  • Good communication and writing skills.
